Neue Frauenplattform startet in Wien

Women with Passion für internationales Speednetworking

Wien (pte054/27.09.2004/17:45) "Women with Passion" ( http://www.womenwithpassion.at.tt ) stehen Donnerstagabend im Wiener Cafe Prückel im Mittelpunkt. Berufstätige Frauen sprechen über ihr Leben, ihren Beruf, ihre Zukunftspläne und Schwierigkeiten bei deren Umsetzung. Ziel ist es, eine branchenübergreifende, internationale, vertikale Networking-Plattform zu schaffen, die Frauen dabei unterstützt ihren eigenen Weg zu gehen. Die erste Veranstaltung findet im Rahmen der Vienna MBA-Fair ( http://www.buyusa.gov/austria/de/mbafair.html ) statt und beschäftigt sich mit der Bedeutung des MBAs bei der Karriereplanung.

Nach der Vorstellung von Women with Passion diskutiert Lydia J. Goutas, MBA und Managing Partner bei LEHNER EXECUTIVE PARTNERS, mit MBA Graduates und Studenten über die Sinnhaftigkeit von MBA-Programmen und lebenslanges Lernen. Danach bietet sich den Gästen Gelegenheit zum Kennenlernen und Networking. "Woman with Passion wendet sich einerseits an Frauen, die ihre Karriereziele mit Leidenschaft verfolgen und Spaß daran haben, und andererseits an Frauen, die gerade dabei sind ihre Träume zu verwirklichen", meint Nigel Stonham, der Gründer. Die Plattform soll dabei Unterstützung und die Möglichkeit zu vertikalem Networking bieten. "Junge Berufseinsteigerinnen können sich mit erfahrenen Business-Ladies direkt austauschen", erkärt der 43-jährige Brite.

Ein weiterer Schwerpunkt sei der Wiedereinstieg ins Berufsleben nach mehrjähriger Karriereunterbrechung. "Als Vater in Karenz kenne ich die Probleme, die Arbeitswelt hat sich in den letzten Jahren komplett verändert. Gleichzeitig ermöglicht das Internet Real Time Communication in die ganze Welt von zu Hause aus und schafft dadurch neue berufliche Möglichkeiten - vor allem für Frauen." Das sei auch der Grund warum er Women with Passion ins Leben gerufen habe.

Trotz des großen Angebots an Frauennetzwerken, wie das Austrian Business Women Network, glaubt Stonham an den Erfolg seines Projekts. "Im Gegensatz zu Women with Passion sind die meisten dieser Plattformen branchen-, länder- oder altersspezifisch ausgerichtet. Wir sind einfach breiter aufgestellt." Zukunftspläne gibt es schon genug. Stonham arbeitet an der Vernetzung von zwei Wiener Schulen, einer HTL und einer Tourismusschule. Schülerinnen und Lehrerinnen beider Schulen sollen nicht nur untereinander kommunizieren, sondern auch mit Women with Passion. Darüber hinaus ist der Launch der Plattform in England und die Vernetzung mit der Wiener Niederlassung geplant. "Es gibt eine Vision und viel Leidenschaft. Was daraus wird, wird die Zukunft zeigen."

New women's platform starts in Vienna

Women with passion for international speed networking

Vienna (pte054/09/27/2004/17:45) "Women with Passion" ( http://www.womenwithpassion.at.tt ) are the focus on Thursday evening in the Viennese Cafe Prückel. Working women talk about their lives, their jobs, their plans for the future and difficulties in realizing them. The aim is to create a cross-industry, international, vertical networking platform that supports women in going their own way. The first event takes place as part of the Vienna MBA Fair ( http://www.buyusa.gov/austria/de/mbafair.html ) and deals with the importance of the MBA in career planning.

After the presentation of Women with Passion, Lydia J. Goutas, MBA and Managing Partner at LEHNER EXECUTIVE PARTNERS, will discuss the meaningfulness of MBA programs and lifelong learning with MBA graduates and students. Afterwards, the guests have the opportunity to get to know each other and to network. "Woman with Passion is for women who are passionate about their career goals and enjoy pursuing them on the one hand and women who are in the process of realizing their dreams on the other," said Nigel Stonham, Founder. The platform is intended to offer support and the opportunity for vertical networking. "Young career starters can talk directly to experienced business ladies," explains the 43-year-old Briton.

Another focus is the re-entry into professional life after a career break of several years. "As a father on maternity leave, I know the problems, the world of work has changed completely in recent years. At the same time, the Internet enables real-time communication to the whole world from home and thus creates new professional opportunities - especially for women." That is also the reason why he created Women with Passion.

Despite the wide range of women's networks, such as the Austrian Business Women Network, Stonham believes in the success of his project. "Unlike Women with Passion, most of these platforms are industry, country or age specific. We're just broader." There are already enough plans for the future. Stonham is working on the networking of two Viennese schools, an HTL and a tourism school. Pupils and teachers of both schools should not only communicate with each other, but also with Women with Passion. In addition, the launch of the platform in England and networking with the Vienna branch are planned. "There is a vision and a lot of passion. The future will show what comes of it."
